Soundbyte 408 – Building Character

The nice thing about music is that the meaning of a song often is different depending on who you ask. I picked this song by Depeche Mode as it has a very positive association to me, the “best friend” in the lyrics in this case probably being the race car you depend on when competing. […]

Soundbyte 387 – Riders on the Storm

Saturday evening, the wind is howling through the trees, as I return from my evening walk with our dog Penny. Earlier that day, Erica and Penny did a massive 18 km trail across the beaches and dunes of the beautiful island of Ameland. Right now, with wind force seven sandblasting everything that dares to stick […]

Soundbyte 339 – Iron Flower

This week’s sound to accompany this little byte comes from a belgium band called K’s Choice and is titled Iron Flower. I’m not even going to begin to try to explain the lyrics, because after all these years I still have no clue. Regardless of that it is a very powerful and beautiful song! With […]

Soundbyte 207: I want to break free

A while ago Joyce and Jago hosted a BBQ for the whole Luminis Technologies crew and during that event Joyce and I started discussing our soundbytes. She thought it might be a nice idea to write one herself, so I was thrilled to get an e-mail a few days ago with her first contribution. I […]

Soundbyte 204: High Hopes

When Anneke reminded me again today that I had forgotten to write a soundbyte this weekend, I immediately realised I wanted to write about the reason I had completely forgotten about writing it in the first place. But not before I have introduced this week’s musical background. Sometimes I listen to different numbers for hours […]

Because of the Easter Holiday, this soundbyte is delivered one day later than normal, on Monday evening.
