New class of IT top talents from Luminis, Bosch and the Belastingdienst complete successful Accelerate trajectory in Aviodrome

Lelystad, July 2, 2025 – In the iconic Aviodrome Aviation Museum, the festive graduation of the most recent edition of the Accelerate program took place yesterday. A diverse group of promising IT talents from Bosch, the Belastingdienst and Luminis celebrated the successful completion of their intensive development program – a program focused on technology, personal growth and impact.

Accelerate is a unique initiative that enables talented IT specialists to grow faster in their field of expertise and as professionals. Over a period of eighteen months, participants are challenged with in-depth training, intervision, coaching and assignments. The focus is not only on technical development, but also on personal leadership, communication and self-reflection.

Accelerate was a breakthrough for me. Where I used to push, pull and want to control everything, I have now learned to let go, really listen and give space. Not only did my way of working with others change, but also who I am as a colleague, father and partner. Accelerate has touched my work as well as my life.

Accelerate aims to create the leaders of the future in a world where the impact of technology is ever increasing, distinguishing itself from traditional management development programs. Following previous successful editions, participants from Bosch, the Belastingienst and Luminis joined this track. The collaboration between the public and private sectors makes Accelerate extra special: participants learn to work in a variety of contexts, with real social and technological issues.

Graduation in style

The location for this year’s graduation had symbolic connotations: the Aviodrome in Lelystad. “A fitting place,” said Bert Ertman, initiator of Accelerate and VP of Technology at Luminis. “The Accelerate program is all about learning to fly in your career, and today we are celebrating the fact that everyone has gained wings. Participants are also literally taking to the skies today and have learned over the past year and a half that the sky is the limit.” After participants’ presentations on their learning path, there was room for connection, retrospection, future vision and a celebratory drink.

Looking forward

The partners are unanimously enthusiastic about the output of the program. “We see our participants making huge strides in personal leadership, professionalism and taking initiative,” says Jeroen Bouvrie, Operational Director at Luminis and member of the Accelerate steering committee. The Belastingdienst and Bosch also emphasize the added value of the program for their teams and the organization as a whole.

The success of the Accelerate program lies in the space we offer our colleagues to grow - especially on a personal level as well as in their technical and leadership skills. As the Belastingdienst, we consciously invest in our people because their development is essential for the future of our organization. Accelerate challenges top talent to excel, transcend themselves and thus contribute to a culture of continuous growth.
