Bol.com beats the competition due to a better converting search engine and a scalable partner channel.

Luminis has been working for the largest e-commerce company in the Netherlands for many years now. In 2016, Bol.com asked Luminis to replace its search engine. The old one was no longer sufficient in terms of volume, quality, conversion and speed. Luminis developed the new search engine and after a number of years still works with the search team at Bol.com. In addition to relevant search results, the new search engine also provides personalised suggestions for customers.

The growth of Bol.com gained momentum a few years ago through the establishment of their partner program. This allowed other companies to sell via the Bol.com platform. To make this possible, a flexible microservices platform has been set up. This platform allows partners to arrange their products easily and digitally. Applications and systems of partners were also integrated within the Bol.com chain.
